If you have read Kafka’s best-known book, The Metamorphosis, you should remember, when Gregor Samsa, the protagonist of the book suddenly wakes up transformed into a giant insect.
Instead, imagine that when you wake up you find yourself living not in a body of a cockroach (fortunately), but in the body of the opposite sex. What would you do? (If you are thinking that cockroach was better, please read the book first).
Let’s start from the physical aspect. The first shock will be to look in the mirror and find ourselves, in our case, charming men with a different hairstyle and beard included. At least this seems to be the result after downloading, FaceApp, an application that uses artificial intelligence to apply filters to people’s faces and that allows you to edit photos and among other effects also to switch to the opposite gender.

As curious as it is to see yourself as a male, what the app can’t do is get into the situation where you have to think, reason, act and feel living in the body of the opposite sex to ours. We remove the earrings and try to draw up the 10 characteristics that our male version should have.
1) Not just football. Tennis, skiing, swimming, volleyball and all the sports on the beach. A Sporty man who enjoys himself even without watching the Champions and Europa League matches.
2) Not just lies. “Sorry if I disappeared, my phone died.” An Honest man, who if he is not interested in meeting or continuing the conversation, will try to justify the absence not with a sudden disservice of the network.
3) Not just flowers. An affectionate and refined gesture is not measured only with a bundle of flowers for the anniversary. An Attentive man who knows how to amaze by organising a special evening at the cinema, theatre, museum or pizzeria.
4) Not just poached eggs. A (Chef) man who knows how to cook, respecting the cooking times of an egg, of pasta al dente and whisk to perfection.
5) Not just myself. A narcissist is an individual who has a highly inflated sense of worth, extreme self-love, and a consistent need for recognition or admiration. An Empathetic man who lets emotions emerge and knows how to listen to the needs and plans with his soulmate, uses to leave in true intimacy that goes beyond just sex.
6) Not just online shopping. Yes shopping in shopping centre and around shops, hours and hours, without getting bored. A Stylish man who understands the importance of combining the colours of the chosen outfit including accessories.
7) No to the “midlife crisis”. Fancy new challenges, buying a sports car, dating a young girl? A Mature man who does everything to keep the family together, capable of redefining his way of life, without being tempted by frivolous escapades.
8) Not only being pampered, but also knowing how to pamper. A Passionate man capable of dosing the right amount of affection without forgetting a fulfilling sex life.
9) Not just fear. A Determined man who is not afraid of difficult moments and faces problems without being afraid of change.
10) Not just muscles. A Nice man with a good sense of humour and possibly with neurons in the areas of language and listening.
